Early Tuesday morning, on August 28, I had an experience like never before. I began in serious prayer, what I believe was spiritual warfare for this generation, especially my chidren and grandchildren. Out of nowhere, I had a direct hit from the enemy to my flesh. I have experienced this only a few times in my walk with Christ.
As I began praying, for all of the generations of children, especially children of the servants of the living God. As I looked at the family portrait on the mantle and began calling out the names of the eldest of the sons and daughters of my household, a heavy metal andiron (four birds on a branch) seemed to jump down from my mantle and pierced the large vein on top of my left foot. OUCH! Blood was everywhere!
I called my daughter and she arrived quickly. She drove me to the hospital under Holy Spirit 's direction. As I entered through the automatic doors of the hospital, I was hobbling with a shoe on my right foot, and a Jewish prayer Shawl (tallit) wrapped around my left foot. This was my makeshift tourniquet, which I had grabbed from my prayer closet. After check-in and all other preliminairies were done, the physician came in. After greeting us warmly, he began carefully unraveling the Jewish prayer shawl, as if it were an art. He looked at my foot, studied it for a moment, then said it was a deep wound,that probably needed sutures, but he was just going to let it heal on its own. What? Then out of nowhwere, he began explaining to the nurse practitioner, all about the Jewish prayer shawl. He then, looked up at me, and asked, "Do you mind, if I pray a Jewish prayer over your foot? I answered swiftly, "By all means, in Jesus name.
I think I somehow realized that he was praying the "Aaronic Benedition" in Hebrew language. Numbers 6:24-26.
Afterwards, the physician tenderly handed me the Jewish prayer shawl, and quietly exited the room. "What just happened here?" Can you believe that the wound was closed and completely healed in three days?
"Jesus Christ is truly Son of the living God, and He is still alive and well on planet Earth, even in the world today, working signs, wonders and miracles through His Spirit."
